This was fun to read; a very vintage website about planning cycling tours in Europe (by an American) except he doesn’t have the internet to use for route planning yet! Not sure when it was written but it was clearly before Google Maps, OpenStreetMaps, cycle.travel, hostelworld and all the rest. Lots of buying paper maps, reading coffee-table photo books (to decide destinations), using guidebooks, phoning ahead. Goodness gracious.
I can just put A and B in cycle.travel, get on a train, cycle for a few days, and then come home. I guess I do camp which makes it a lot easier…
Very fun! Did I learn much uhhhh not tooooo sure? Maybe that I should give it a go and save a lot of money rather than paying ££s for hostel and coach.
