Threads was a film produced by the BBC in 1984 about a nuclear bomb being dropped on Sheffield. It was produced in the midst of the cold war, amongst leaks of government infomercials advising what to do in the event of a nuclear war, and it sounds really really good, and scary.

I guess we still have films like this? Like the TV is constantly showing us how fucked up everything is… Black Mirror, Don’t Look Up… the news! and yet… nothing has changed. Why doesn’t informing people make a difference? What is it that stops them deciding things for themselves?
