so basically there’s a weird unicode symbol and nobody knows what it’s for or where it came from so Jonathan Chan went down all the rabbit holes and archives and emailing people and tracked it down to an original monotype punch/matrix – so a customer asked monotype for it between 1954 and 1963 and we don’t know who.
