This is a very pretty piece of a bunch of vignettes from Lu(ke)’s previous career as a teacher. It’s got lots of touching anecdotes/stories about the people they knew.
A lot of the kids they worked with were muslims, and it’s nice reading something nice about muslims, it reminds me of high school, and it’s a lot better than what the rest of the news will show you about them.
The kids you teach and the things they teach you…
This is a very soulful piece. Good to re-read.
Hahaha, Mrs Gordon is drawn very well with words. I knew so many teachers exactly like that, haha.
It sounds like Luke becomes the SEND expert at the school, and really does their best. It’s very cool, but it’s a lot of work. It might also be a SEND school.
This is a really lovely piece about teaching, I guess, and working in a school. It’s work full of meaning. I want to do work like that, one day. But likely not in a school. Maybe when I’m very old. Connecting with people is what it’s all about. I should remember that. That’s why we’re here, after all.
I really love this piece.
