This is a really cool style/word thing that Lu does sometimes. They only use words with two syllab- I mean with two beats or fewer. This gives the prose a really distinct quality, and it’s very noticable in what they write, I think.
I’m trying it out here. It’s tricky, but I can feel myself doing it.
The point is that it makes you be even simpler in what you say, and really think about it. It stops you using big words that the reader might not know and it also forces you to be more direct, I think.
I really like this. I should try it out more often. Maybe when I rewrite the blog post about how I made my reading list, or talk about why I wear eyeliner/passing.
